The third annual World Camping Day to be celebrated on June 29

On June 29, the third annual World Camping Day will be celebrated.

The initiative – also supported by UN Tourism (United Nations World Tourism Organisation, formerly UNWTO) – was celebrated last year for the second time at the World Camping Festival in Zaton, Croatia, organised by the FICC (Fédération Internationale de Camping, Caravanning et Autocaravaning). This year the event is in Alicante, Spain, where the event is already underway and where it will continue until 4 July.

The aim is to pay tribute to the outdoor vacation style that has seen unprecedented growth across Europe in recent years.

The chosen date, June 29, is significant: it is the feast of Saints Peter and Paul. Paul was a preacher who traveled extensively, making him a “traveler” of his time.

This image aligns well with the concept of itinerant travel and nature exploration, which are central to camping holidays.

On June 29th, during World Camping Day, campers worldwide are invited to share their experiences on social media using the hashtag #WorldCampingDay.

This event offers an opportunity for camping enthusiasts to connect, share stories, and celebrate camping culture on a global scale.
