The 3rd edition of the Salone del Mobile.Milano Shanghai

The Salone del Mobile.Milano Shanghai has opened for the third time. It is being held at the SEC – Shanghai Exhibition Center – from Thursday 22nd to Saturday 24th November – where 123 Italian brands will showcase the very latest in “living Italian-style”, featuring furniture, home accessories, home textiles and bathroom furniture.

The show highlights the inherent Italian imagination, creativity and manufacturing quality that has made its furnishing sector stand out.

The three days of this year’s Salone del Mobile.Milano Shanghai are described as a journey into “Italian savoir faire” – sophisticated and open-minded – providing an unmissable opportunity for the Chinese to admire the Italian ability to interpret today’s lifestyle through advanced and intelligent tailored creativity and research. The furnishing solutions showcased in Shanghai are the same categories as those in Milan: Design (76 brands) – products that are functional, innovative and good-looking, and xLux/Classico – products that harness classical elegance and contemporary design.

This year’s Master Classes are being held by three internationally renowned Italian architects, Michele De Lucchi, Stefano Boeri and Roberto Palomba, in dialogue with three talented Chinese designers, Yung Ho Chang, Liu Yichun and Furong Chen. The Master Classes provide a unique opportunity to find out more about differing yet synergic ideas about the development of the design industry in China and the rest of the world.

More than 20,000 high-profile people visited the previous Salone del Mobile.Milano Shanghai. The Salone del Mobile in Milan, at which China was the best-represented foreign country, attracted over 34,000 attendees.

It’s not all business at the Salone del Mobile.Milano Shanghai as, once again, the event aims to further the exchange and sharing of knowledge and visions by leading international designers. The event’s cultural programme is further enriched by the debates and the exhibition organised by Salone del Mobile.Milano Shanghai’s partners.

Last but not least, SaloneSatellite Shanghai, back for the third consecutive time and charged with expectation and vision, will be a promotion platform for 39 young Chinese designers and university and design school students.
