The 2025 edition of Italian caravan and motorhome show, Salone del Camper, reported a 3 per cent year-on-year increase in visitor numbers, with more than 107,000 in attendance from 13 to 21 September.
At the show, which is co-organised by Fiere di Parma and the Italian Association of Caravan and Camper Manufacturers (APC), it was also revealed that the Italian recreational vehicle market just recorded its best results in 10 years.
From the period between 1 September 2024 and 31 August 2025, 7,726 units were sold in Italy, which is a year-on-year increase of 12.08 per cent.
The show’s, success combined with these latest industry figures, confirms that Salone del Camper remains an important international event and also that the growth of the recreational vehicle and open-air holiday sector looks set to continue in Italy and wider Europe.
Of the 310 exhibitors at Salone del Camper, 237 were Italian and 73 were international from a total of 22 different countries. The exhibition space covered 110,000 square metres across five halls, with more than 600 vehicles on display.

Antonio Cellie, CEO of Fiere di Parma, said: “The Salone del Camper has once again proven to be an international business platform, as well as an iconic place to promote the culture of travel and caravanning as a lifestyle. It is the ideal place to see and experience first-hand the evolution of the sector, to buy or simply to discover a new world, the community of manufacturers and users of recreational vehicles, but also destinations.
“We have increased visitor numbers and sales in Italy, which, despite being the third largest producer in Europe, needs to grow in order to compete and reduce the gap with Germany and France. Innovations in the use of technology and design, including those aimed at reducing consumption and promoting sustainability and inclusion, are important, and the Salone del Camper has showcased them all.”
Simone Niccolai, President of the APC, added: “Recreational vehicles now allow people to enjoy their free time independently and smartly. You can travel with your family, friends and pets, enjoying many benefits such as the freedom to choose when to leave and change your route at any time. Motorhomes are now used all year round, not only for long journeys, but also for local tourism, weekends, sporting adventures and smart working.
“The variety on offer means that you can always find your ideal vehicle, now equipped with all the comforts even in the most compact models, which are also rich in design and home automation technology. In particular, the van – considered almost a second car – is able to meet the needs of a wide audience thanks to its versatility and compactness. In short, travelling by motorhome is cool and trendy, as demonstrated by the great success of the Salone del Camper with the public, again this year.”

It was also revealed at the show that a total of €25.7 million will be invested in 170 different municipalities in Italy by the country’s Ministry of Tourism to help create 4,400 new camper parking spaces across the country.
APC and Fiere di Parma have already announced that next year’s Salone del Camper show will take place from 12 to 20 September 2026.
