Stellantis Pro One, the commercial vehicle business unit of automotive giant Stellantis, has revealed a new Small Compact Van (SCV) that is set to expand its best-selling Compact Van family.
The new van will be available under four of Stellantis’ brands and will be known as the Citroën Berlingo Van FIRST, Fiat Professional Doblò EasyPRO, Opel Combo START, or Peugeot Partner ACTIVE.
Each will feature unique new concepts, including the Flexiseat, a modular seat for one passenger, which can be folded to increase load volume; and Modutable, a content which can be added, in option, on the Flexiseat to transform it into the ideal support for a mobile office or a dining table.
The vans will be available with a choice of either a new BEV engine with a range of up to 270km, two petrol engines, a diesel engine, and a new mild-hybrid, which will be available from next year.
“Being a leader implies a great responsibility,” said Eric Laforge, Stellantis Pro One Global Senior Vice President. “Excellence is expected by the customers, including those yet to be won. This is why, listening closely to their feedback, we have developed a rational, comfortable and modular vehicle, delivering original solutions that are a real Unique Selling Proposition.”
Exterior and interior dimensions of the van remain unchanged, with two available lengths, payload capacity ranging from 750 kg to 1 ton, and load volume from 3.3 to 4.4 cubic meters.
Luca Marengo, Head of Product and Innovation at Stellantis Pro One, added: “This new Smart Compact Van makes no compromises on capability. It offers the same core specifications as the base version, enhanced by the addition of the standard Flexiseat, which defines a new paradigm in the cabin functionality delivering more space, more functionality and greater value to the customer. Furthermore, upgrade options can be added at any stage of the vehicle lifecycle, further demonstrating the flexibility that has always characterised Stellantis vehicles, designed around customer needs.”
