According to new data from the Spanish Caravanning Industry Trade Association (ASEICAR), motorhome registrations in the country for August saw a significant decline compared to the same month last year.
A total of 312 new motorhomes and campervans were registered in Spain in August this year, which is a decrease of 26.4 per cent compared to August 2024.
Within that, registrations of motorhomes were down 5.1 per cent and campervans were down 38.8 per cent, with urban vans also seeing a decrease of 49 per cent.

Caravans offered some good news for Spain, with new registrations recorded at 50 for August, which is 11 per cent more than August 2024.
The second-hand motorhome and camper van market also increased slightly in Spain in August, with a rise of 1.6 per cent (from 1,540 to 1,565). However, second-hand caravans fell slightly, from 470 to 458.
ASEICAR described this decline in new motorhome and campervan registrations in August as ‘surprising’ in its official press release, which is understandable given the positive figures posted by neighbouring European countries such as France in recent months.
Spain will soon host its annual Caravaning Salon Internacional show (pictured above) at the Fira Barcelona from 11-19 October.
