Lippert Components makes six new appointments, and launches the Lippert Academy for Leadership

Lippert Components has appointed six people to new positions responsible for the areas of innovation, business development in emerging markets, supply chain management, aftermarket sales, continuous improvement, plus a new Academy for Leadership.

The launch of the Lippert Academy for Leadership™ aims to provide external businesses, nonprofits, and individuals with a variety of programmes, including on-site training and leadership development programs, executive coaching, speaking engagements, and a two-day in-house leadership development experience.

Dustin Kaehr, who has been one of LCI’s Directors of Leadership Development, has been appointed to a new role of Director of the Lippert Academy for Leadership. Kaehr has over 20 years of experience helping large and small organizations with leadership challenges, operational management, and employee/customer engagement. He is also the author of two books: a business book entitled, “Retail is…50 Thoughts, Ideas, and Conversations to Make Your Business Better,” and his latest book, released in October 2018, entitled, “Dear Boys…The Letter Every Son Needs From His Father”.

The Lippert Academy for Leadership builds on and shares what LCI has learned through its mission to align business and cultural strategies to impact the lives of its 11,000 team members in over 65 facilities across the United States, Canada, and Europe. Lippert’s attrition rate has dropped from over 120 percent to below 30 percent in the last six years.

The Academy can customize leadership training and development to meet the needs of any organization. “We’ve helped companies with strategic planning, leadership training, and the development and implementation of core values and mission statements,” stated Dustin Kaehr. “These successes are just the beginning of what we hope to accomplish through the Lippert Academy for Leadership. We are excited to share our knowledge and tools with other like-minded businesses.”

The new Territory Sales Manager, Aftermarket Sales is Dave Voelker who will cover the Great Lakes region working to strengthen and grow relationships with LCI’s aftermarket partners. One key way Voelker intends to strengthen partnerships is by establishing the Gold Circle Dealer program, and a number of other profit programs offered by LCI, within the Great Lakes region.

Voelker brings with him more than 18 years of sales experience. This includes working in RV aftermarket and automotive parts distribution channels, working on store setups and dealership selling events, merchandising, and bringing profitable marketing solutions to dealerships.

“I’m excited to bring Dave onboard. His years of experience in the aftermarket will help the team achieve our growth goals. Adding someone who is aligned with our values is important as we expand the aftermarket sales group,” stated Matt Clauss, National Sales Manager at LCI.

“Dave’s extensive experience within the RV and automotive industries will be a tremendous asset to our Aftermarket Sales team. We’re excited that Dave has joined the LCI family, and we know he will take things to the next level,” said Mark Boessler, Vice President of Aftermarket Sales at LCI.

Lippert Components has also announced that it has promoted Jared Kendall to the role of Senior Director of Continuous Improvement. In his new role, Kendall will lead LCI’s team of Lean Directors and direct VAVE (Value Analysis, Value Engineered) team activities across all divisions within the company to support lean improvements and operational efficiencies.

Kendall has been with LCI for three years and previously served as Lean Director, where he focused on creating continuous improvement within the Company’s RV products division. He will now expand his cost-saving and waste-reduction efforts company-wide by employing the kaizen philosophy, using practical problem solving, engaging operational leadership teams, and leading VAVE projects.

“We’re continually expanding our Lean process improvements, VAVE team activities, and operational efficiencies, and I’m excited to see Jared take charge of these efforts,” commented Ryan Smith, Senior Vice President of Operations at LCI.

LCI’s VAVE Team concentrates on several objectives including: chassis cost savings, optimization of chassis designs, improvement of manufacturing processes, evaluation of structural questions and/or concerns, OEM partnerships for the creation of new chassis designs, and the overall maintenance and expansion of structural guidelines.

“I’ve worked closely with Jared for about a year, and he’s shown a true brilliance at identifying areas of waste and continuing to come up with solutions to decrease that waste. He has a keen ability to lead teams, and I’m especially proud of him for his strong track record of developing and training fellow LCI team members on continuous improvement,” said John Ries, Vice President of RV Products at LCI.

“I’m thankful for the opportunity to lead such a strong and talented team. I’m excited to continue our cost-saving and waste-reduction efforts and to utilize our creative problem-solving abilities to achieve our improvement goals,” said Kendall.

The new Chief Supply Chain Officer at Lippert Components, Inc. is Scott Meiner has been promoted from his previous role as
Vice President of Supply Chain.

As Chief Supply Chain Officer, Meiner will continue to lead the Company’s supply chain efforts on a global basis. He will focus on building and strengthening the supply chain team to support the complexity of LCI as the Company continues its growth within the recreational vehicle, marine, residential building products, and emerging lateral markets.

In his new role, Meiner will primarily focus on procurement, logistics, demand and supply planning, as well as inventory optimization. Over the last 20 years, he led several major operations, including chassis and axle production and window and glass tempering facilities, for the Company.

“From the very start, Scott has shown an incredible ability to improve operating efficiency and raw material sourcing. Under his continued leadership, our supply chain efforts will strengthen and thrive,” said Jason Lippert, LCI’s CEO.

“As we continue to grow towards $3 billion in revenue, our supply chain needs have become more complex, and we’re very excited to see him take on this new role,” added Jason Lippert.

Another LCI employee to be promoted is Brian Hess, who is now in the role of Vice President of Innovation. He will work to develop innovative product solutions across all industries the Company serves.

With Brian’s promotion, we’re amplifying our innovation efforts across the entire Company in order to achieve our goal of bringing even more product innovation to our customers on a consistent basis,” commented Andy Murray, LCI’s Chief Sales Officer.

“Brian’s education and background, combined with over a decade of experience, make him uniquely qualified for his new role. With the support of our talented innovation teams, we know he will excel and continue to fuel product innovation.”

Previously, Hess served as the Company’s Director of Sales for the Chassis Division and, most recently, as Director of Sales, Towables. Hess has been with the Company for more than six years and has a strong background within the RV industry.

With the promotion of Hess, the Company plans to take its product innovation to the next level and to identify the key insights and trends that will shape the products of the future.

In order to support our mission of making lives better for the people and industries we serve through the products that we develop, my primary focus will be to create a culture of innovation by ensuring that all team members, suppliers, partners, retail customers, and end users are engaged in the innovation process,” stated Hess.

Lindsey Stults has been hired to direct the Company’s business development within emerging markets. Stults attended Indiana University and began his career in 1986 with Babsco, Inc., an electrical distributor to the RV and residential building product industries.

In 1998, he started Odyssey Group in Elkhart, Indiana, a distribution company primarily dealing in electrical products. Later, he assembled a team that entered into the plumbing, hardware and fastener, building materials, and electronics categories for the RV, residential building products, specialty vehicles, marine, and transit markets in the U.S. and Canada. Most recently, Stults worked as a consultant, advising manufacturing businesses on strategic acquisitions.

“Lindsey is an industry veteran with great relationships and a great perspective. He has a depth of experience in many of our key markets, as well as markets that we’re committed to growing, which will only make us more effective,” said Andy Murray, LCI’s Chief Sales Officer.

Jason Lippert, LCI CEO, added: “Lindsey has an amazing, positive attitude that has led to many great relationships throughout the industries we serve. His background, combined with his passion for people, make him a great fit for the LCI family.”

Additionally, Stults will work alongside LCI’s sales teams to increase the Company’s exposure to new markets and help build LCI’s portfolio into emerging markets for the leisure vehicle and mobile transportation industries.
