Seven halls of RVs at CMT 2023 (14th - 22nd January)

The CMT 2023 holiday exhibition in Stuttgart (14 to 22 January) will have seven halls of RVs covering the entire spectrum of mobile travel with around 1,200 caravans and motorhomes, plus innovations and accessories.

Demand for caravans and motorhomes in Germany remains strong, with almost 25 percent of adults in Germany planning to go on holiday in a caravan or motorhome in the next five years, according to a study by the Society for Consumer Research (GfK).

“The demand for motorhomes and caravans is undiminished,” enthused Alexander Ege, Division Director Trade Fairs & Events and the person responsible for the holiday exhibitions of Messe Stuttgart. “As the world’s largest consumer show for tourism and leisure, CMT is a wonderful opportunity to obtain information from experts, compare models, personally sit behind the wheel of a vehicle or test a mattress –irrespective of whether you are interested in a motorhome, a van or a camper.”

From exclusive luxury liners, new small caravans, powerful off-road models and barrier-free trailers through to a wide range of solar technology, air-conditioning systems and manoeuvering solutions, the industry will present its complete range of products and services.

“The general desire for more individuality and independence is also being clearly reflected in caravanning,” said Alexander Ege. “There is therefore a clear trend towards camper vans and  box vans. In particular, newcomers attach great importance to suitability for daily use. Nearly every major mobile home manufacturer now offers these compact models, but there are also some new companies which will present their vehicles at CMT. You will also find out at CMT how to turn a family van or a high-roof estate car into a recreational vehicle.”

Visitors to CMT 2023 will see rental offers at the Entrance East of Messe Stuttgart and there is comprehensive information about camping grounds and pitches in “Camperland” (Alfred Kärcher Hall 8).

In the Vans & Friends Lounge, visitors will be able to listen to reports on van life from influencers and obtain a large number of practical tips at first hand.

Roof tents (Entrance East) and folding caravans (L-Bank Forum, Hall 1) are becoming more popular among individual holidaymakers thanks to their low weight, the minimum amount of space required during non-use and relatively reasonable costs. Many people appreciate the easy simplicity of this type of holiday: mobility and freedom are the top priorities while roof tents and folding caravans can be erected with just a few simple operations.

With all this carefree desire for holidays, the topic of sustainability is becoming a focal point of tourism since travellers consume energy and produce rubbish. Recreational vehicles can also score points here – “green caravaning” are the magic words. At the Entrance East exhibitors will show how you can responsibly enjoy a caravanning holiday while still protecting the environment and conserving resources.

CMT, the world’s largest consumer show for tourism and leisure, will be held at the Stuttgart Trade Fair Centre from 14 to 22 January 2023. It will be open daily from 10.00 to 18.00; admission starts at 09.00. The Holiday Exhibition will be supplemented by its special shows, i.e. Fahrrad- und Wander-Reisen (Cycling and Hiking Holidays), Golf- und Wellness-Reisen (Golf and Wellness Holidays), and Kreuzfahrt- und Schiffs-Reisen (Cruises and Ship Travel). Fahrrad- und Wander-Reisen (Cycling and Hiking Holidays) will be extended for the first time to three days and will include both the first weekend of CMT and the Monday (14 to 16 January). “Interdive”, the International Diving Trade Fair, will also celebrate its première on the second weekend (19 to 22 January). In the caravaning section, the new product show at the start of the season, visitors can look forward to around 1,200 vehicles of all renowned brands and manufacturers. https://www.messe-stuttgart.de/cmt/
