German automotive brand Mercedes-Benz has announced that its all-new Marco Polo campervan will be available to order in Germany and other European markets from 5 August.
The newest iteration of the Marco Polo benefits from a number of updates and new features designed to make it even more comfortable for mobile living, including an improved living and sleeping concept with a pop-up roof made using a light double-skinned aluminium shell.
There is also a new LED ambient lighting concept, a fully redesigned awning that allows for full flexibility in assembly and disassembly, new magnetically attached darkening solutions for nighttime, improved folding tables, optimised drawer slides, a redesigned bench seat and a more energy-efficient cooler box.
Another upgrade is the enhanced infotainment system that benefits from eight speakers and a subwoofer to deliver clear, rich sound – both on the road and at the campsite – because the Bluetooth connectivity allows playback even when the infotainment system is switched off.
In addition, starting at the end of the year, a new sliding roof and — for the first time — a panorama opening in the canvas of the pop-up roof will bring even more daylight and fresh air into the interior. At night, they offer an unobstructed view of the starry sky.
This latest edition of Mercedes’ popular camper is being built entirely in-house by the company, with the V-Class base vehicle produced at its facility in Vitoria, Spain, before the conversion takes place at the Ludwigsfelde plant in Germany.
