Germany’s Knaus Tabbert group has introduced a new door featuring numerous improvements and unique selling points across the majority of its caravans and motorhomes for the 2019 model year.
The door is – depending on the vehicle model – either 600 or 700 mm wide, and can be more easily and comfortably closed because it shuts with a damped and quieter operation (much like a car door). The door’s locking claw and closing mechanism have also been improved with a latch lock, lock-out protection, as well as a locking display, based on the examples in the automotive industry.
There are Comfort, Premium and Exklusiv versions of the new door.
In the COMFORT version, the light grey interior lining is designed in carbon grain; in the PREMIUM and EXKLUSIV version, it is designed in leather grain.
For all door models, the door panel has two foldable clothes hooks. Additional features of the PREMIUM and EXKLUSIV door include: Material-leather applications for a luxurious feeling; in the lower level, there are two additional hooks for a carrying bag.
Other features include a moisture-sensitive umbrella compartment and a wide window in Privacy Black which allows lots of natural light into the interior while simultaneously impeding the vision of overly curious, unwanted guests. It can also be shaded by using a blind.
For caravan models with central locking system, there is anintegrated ‘coming-home’ function with LEDs that illuminate when the key ispressed (EXKLUSIV version):
