More than 100,000 people attend Italy’s Salone del Camper

The 15th edition of one of Italy’s leading caravan and motorhome shows, Salone del Camper, closed its doors with an attendance in excess of 100,000 people.

Held at Fiere di Parma from 12 to 20 September this year, Salone del Camper hosted more than 310 exhibitors over 110,000 square metres of exhibition space, offering those 100,000 visitors the chance to see more than 600 models of recreational vehicles up close.

As well as attracting a large number of end users and industry professionals, this year’s Salone del Camper also had a strong institutional presence, with guests and speakers at the show including Minister for European Affairs, PNRR and Cohesion Policies Tommaso Foti, Italian Minister of Tourism Gianmarco Mazzi, and Vice President of the Senate and former Minister of Agricultural Food, Forestry, and Tourism Policies Gian Marco Centinaio.

The show’s co-organisers, the Associazione Produttori Caravan and Camper (APC), said Salone del Camper ‘represented a meeting point for the entire itinerant tourism chain, from campers, vans, caravans and motorhomes to components, accessories, services and destinations, putting companies, operators, the public and institutions in dialogue’.

This successful edition of the show comes during a positive period for the RV market in Italy, with latest figures showing that between September 2025 and 31 August 2026, 8,144 new motorhomes were registered, compared to 7,760 the previous season, with a growth of 4.95 per cent. Campervans count for an impressive 37.26 per cent of these new registrations.

Italy also maintains its position as the third European manufacturer of motorhomes, after Germany and France, with more than 80 per cent of the production destined for export.

Part of the reason behind Italy’s continued success as a leisure vehicle market is down to the attention paid to the industry by the country’s government – during the event, the interventions financed by the Ministry of Tourism with €32 million were presented, destined for over 150 projects in 169 Italian municipalities and the construction of 4,375 parking pitches.

The 2027 edition of Salone del Camper will take place from 11 to 19 September, once again in Parma.
