GOK to begin utilising new surface protection technology

German producer of components for use with liquefied petroleum gas and fuel oil, GOK, has revealed it will be using a new surface protection technology on many of its products going forward.

The new zinc nickel coating (ZnNi) provides an even higher corrosion resistance while maintaining dimensional accuracy and functionality – it will be used on a selection of GOK’s compression fittings from its range, beginning immediately.

This new coating is a further development of a proven zinc coating already used by GOK and provides a darker, warmer colour tone to the components, as well as delivering performance and durability enhancements.

It also complies with the EN ISO 19598 standard and, according to GOK, guarantees the highest level of technical safety and quality.

A statement by GOK said: “The transition will take place gradually. However, for you as the user, everything will remain as reliably consistent as before – the function, dimensional accuracy and operational safety of our products remain fully guaranteed.

“Of course, our components will continue to comply with all applicable environmental regulations in accordance with the RoHS Directive 2015/863/EU and the REACH Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006.”
