Flexible solar panels and off-road levelling: here’s what AL-KO launched at CSD

Components and chassis supplier to the RV industry, AL-KO Vehicle Technology, recently revealed a host of new products on its stand at the Caravan Salon Düsseldorf show, covering many different aspects of the market.

One of the key reveals was its new LevelM Pro 4×4, which was developed in collaboration with its subsidiary company E&P Hydraulics. This new version of a proven hydraulic levelling system was specifically developed for off-road use on the Mercedes-Benz VS30 4×4 chassis, thanks to its extra-long cylinders that can provide up to 300mm of ground clearance.

This launch can certainly be seen as catering to the growing interest in off-road camping and travel that the market is experiencing and complements the other systems in the range, including the LevelM Pro, LevelVan, LevelC and HY4.

AL-KO felxible solar panels

The AL-KO Vehicle Technology Electronics division of the company, which comprises subsidiaries CBE, Nordelettroinica, and Toptron, has released a new series of photovoltaic modules with interesting applications for caravans and motorhomes.

The MFFL150 and MFFL190 models are the highlights of AL-KO VTE’s progress in solar; both are flexible cells that can adapt easily to the existing body contours of a leisure vehicle, minimising the surface area exposed to the buffeting effects of the airstream. Another advantage is that the modules of the Flexible Series can be glued on, eliminating the need for drilling or screwing.

Alongside the Flexible Series in photovoltaic modules, a new MFBC190 was released, which AL-KO VTE claims achieves the highest efficiency currently available on the market. With a compact size of 130×67 cm and 60 individual cells, it produces up to 190 W.

Also under AL-KO VTE, the company showcased new Line Touch Panels for its impressive ONDA Smart System.

AL-KO VARIO bike carrier

Another highlight presented by AL-KO this year was under the specialist carrier systems brand SAWIKO, which released new Velo and Ligero models of bike carriers. These two light holders focus on ergonomics and fold up automatically together.
