Easy Caravanning GetAway named ANWB Caravan of the Year

The GetAway caravan produced by Easy Caravanning has been named Caravan of the Year 2026 by the Dutch tourism association ANWB.

The caravan, which was showcased at the Kampeer and Caravan Jaarbeurs show in Utrecht in October, is produced in Emmen in the Netherlands, making Easy Caravanning the first Dutch manufacturer to win this prestigious title in more than 20 years.

It features a compact and lightweight design that doesn’t compromise on the feeling of interior space, thanks to a pop-up roof, versatile lounge, and large bed dimensions.

“Being awarded Caravan of the Year 2026 with the GetAway fills us with pride,” said Maarten de Roos, Founder and Managing Director of Easy Caravanning.

“For us, this recognition goes beyond the GetAway itself: it is the culmination of our work to show that mobile leisure in 2025 can truly be different.

“Our TakeOff – a hybrid camping concept positioned between a folding trailer and a traditional caravan – has demonstrated in recent years that there is a growing demand for leisure vehicles suitable for compact and electric cars.

“This award as Caravan of the Year 2026 is a tremendous encouragement for us to continue developing innovative camping solutions for the mobility of tomorrow. It is an inspiration for our team and our business partners to stay on course and keep proving that comfortable camping does not necessarily mean large and heavy.”

The unladen weight of the GetAway in its Active trim level is just 670kg, making it very easy to tow with a wide range of vehicles. The Sport and Xcite trim levels weigh 725 and 745kg, respectively. The caravan uses no wooden frames; instead, it is built with recycled PET foam with different densities used for different properties.

It also uses aluminium with a higher magnesium content than usual, which makes it lighter and stiffer, while the furniture panels are constructed with foam cores.

Marc Takken, Co-Owner of Easy Caravanning and Managing Director of Karsten Tenten, added: “In our showroom in Zwaag, Easy Caravanning is a natural extension of our product range. Tent campers who are a little older eventually look for more seating and sleeping comfort. With the TakeOff and the GetAway, we offer two perfectly complementary leisure vehicles, where the use of cotton tent fabric with panoramic windows in the pop-up roofs still preserves the ultimate feeling of freedom. Sleeping is just like at home on the generous beds (TakeOff 2.05 x 1.60 m, GetAway 2.15 x 1.70 m) with comfortable mattresses and slatted bases. If desired, the living space can be further expanded with our matching awning tents, which are characterised by their ease of setup.”
