Leisure, tourism, and caravaning show CMT enjoyed a successful start to its 2026 edition, welcoming around 72,000 visitors over the opening weekend.
The show, which takes place annually at the Messe Stuttgart in Germany, covers a wide range of different tourism topics but is also known for its strong presence in the caravanning industry, with many new product premieres taking place from major brands.
“Numerous exhibitors have so far experienced an uninterrupted high demand for camping and leisure vehicles – especially in the middle price segment between 70,000 and 90,000 euros,” said Alexander Ege, Director of Trade Fairs & Events at Messe Stuttgart.
Meanwhile, Roland Bleinroth, Managing Director of Messe Stuttgart, added: “The strong start of the CMT 2026 underlines the continuing high desire to travel and the central role of the trade fair for the industry. With new concepts, strong partner destinations and high demand in the caravanning sector, the CMT confirms its importance as an economic engine for tourism and leisure.”
On Monday, 19 January, the Tourism Day Baden-Württemberg (fully booked) and the annual press conference of the Caravaning Industrie Verband (CIVD) will also take place. In addition, the Future Tourism Congress starts and offers comprehensive insights on sustainability and tourism of the future.
The show will run until 25 January, and between 22 and 25 January will host subsidiary trade fair Selbstausbau, which is wholly focused on DIY campervan conversions and adaptations.
