Caravan industry participates in April Fool's

The caravan industry joined in the traditional April Fool’s pranks on 1st April by posting stories on social media of quirky and usual caravans.

The Trigano group revealed a floating Sterckeman Alizé ‘Ocean 560 CP’ caravan that it claimed was as comfortable on land as it is on water.

Trigano’s Caravelair brand also shared an April Fool. It claimed to have “a whole new type of caravan” – one with a wheel in each corner.

The April Fool’s were not only caravans. The motorhome manufacturer, Chausson, announced its X550 Charentaise (slipper) Edition!

Challenger motorhomes claimed (on 1st April) that it had the longest vehicle on the market: X150000!

Another April Fool’s novelty was the “Solo Surfer 3000”. It promised a completely new travel experience:

  • Simple live & minimalism: With the Ape 50 you have time for the things that are really important.
  • Social detox and mindfulness: you can finally  take time for yourself. Only your needs count here.
  • Slow down your everyday life – not just because of the 38 km / h.

A new CROSSCAMP Shrink was announced on 1st April in an advert saying: From now on, camping fans no longer need to worry about finding parking spaces… only about bumping their heads. Because following the success of the CROSSCAMP compact camper vans, our young brand is going one step tinier, unveiling the world’s first tiny compact camper van: the new CROSSCAMP Shrink!

Inspired by the Tiny House principle, the innovative design heralds a new era of vanlife – more compact, more minimalist and, above all, more questionable and foolish than ever before. It is currently unclear when the CROSSCAMP Shrink will be available near you – there are still a few challenges to be solved, according to project manager April Scherzinger: “Currently, getting into the vehicle is still a bit of a hassle. We can’t quite get the camping kitchen to fit, to be honest, and with 1.2 x 0.5 meters, the double bed also needs some tweaking. However, we should have all these tiny inconsistencies solved by April 2022, at the latest. To the future of tiny camping!”

Victory Leisure Homes company used some unique British humour to tell everyone it had the world’s first Yorkshire-inspired holiday home: “We’re proud to reveal our brand new model, God’s Own Caravan – the world’s first Yorkshire-inspired holiday home! Rammed full of every feature a true Yorkshire lad or lass could possibly need: -Yorkshire Tea on tap – Flat cap stand – In-built Yorkshire pudding tin in the oven – Smart t’eating with nithered and maftin pre-sets – A big light for when you need it – Neon ‘ey up!’ signage above the bed – Framed photos of Yorkshire’s finest including England cricket captain Joe Root and Chuckle Brothers Official

Also in the UK, Coachman Caravans posted details of a flat-packed caravan for assembly at home.
