Caravan Industry Association of Australia elects national board members at its 2023 AGM

At the AGM of the Caravan Industry Association of Australia it elected its national board members for the coming year and also presented its Annual Report.

The national board election was hotly contested, with 13 strong individuals putting their hands up for service.

Elected to the board were: Mark Glencross (Trade – new); Sean Jenner (Parks – new); Kate Meldrum (Trade – re-elected); Nikki Milne (Parks – re-elected); Margaret Shannon (Parks – re-elected); and Grant Wilckens (Parks – re-elected).

They join the three Directors who were not up for election (each Board term is two years): Donna Cocking (Parks); Brad Slater (Trade); and Gerard Waldron (Trade).

By virtue of his election, Grant Wilckens will continue to assume the Chair for one final year in accordance with constitutional maximum terms.  The positions of Vice-Chair and Treasurer will be determined at the first Board meeting early in the new calendar year.

The Association extended its thanks to outgoing board members – Martin Cotterell and Christopher Woods, for their invaluable contributions over their tenure which have been fundamental to providing a strong strategic platform for future growth and resilience within the industry in Australia.

A statement from the Caravan Industry Association of Australia said: “The caravan industry has enjoyed an amazing couple of years, unprecedented even in their record level of activity, and this has certainly been supported by a group of associations committed to working together for strong and positive outcomes.  Through their collective guidance, we have navigated challenges and opportunities, securing a robust future for the Australian caravan industry. It will be important that this spirit of cooperation continues to combat the risks in the market at present so we remain ahead of competitive industries, and the discretionary travel option of choice in Australia.”
