South Korean automotive brand Hyundai impressed visitors to the recent CMT fair in Stuttgart by revealing a brand-new campervan concept.
The STARIA Camper Concept is based on the recently unveiled STARIA Electric people carrier and includes many of the same futuristic design and enhanced technologies.
Featuring a fully-integrated, power-operated pop-up roof for a brighter and more roomy living space when parked, the STARIA Camper Concept also has a 520W lightweight composite solar panel capable of generating 2.6kWh of electricity per day, a 36l refridgerator, portable shower, and cabin temperature control system.
Another innovative feature is the electronically adjustable smart glass in the rear of the cabin that can change between transparency and shading via a control panel, while offering improved UV, thermal, and acoustic insulation compared to regular glass.

Hyundai says that any potential production model of this campervan would be based on the STARIA Electric for the European market, which benefits from an 800-volt high-voltage architecture that enables DC fast charging from 10 to 80 per cent in around 20 minutes.
It also has a 160kW front-wheel-drive electric powertrain and an estimated WLTP driving range of up to 400km on a single charge.
Hyundai used the CMT show as the testing ground for this concept vehicle, inviting feedback from visitors across the camping and caravanning market in Europe and beyond.
The company says it will use insights gained at the show to inform whether this STARIA-based concept vehicle could become a production model in the future.
