Camper and caravan sales rise 7% in the Netherlands in first half of 2024

In the first half of 2024, almost 5,800 new campers and caravans were sold in the Netherlands. That is an increase of seven percent compared to the same period last year, according to figures from Kampeer en Caravan Industrie (KCI) and BOVAG.

In the first half of 2024, 1,582 new campers left dealer showrooms, which means an increase of almost 12.5 percent compared to the first six months of last year. Furthermore, 4,207 new caravans were delivered, or five percent more than a year ago. In addition, more than 19,000 second-hand campers and almost 24,500 used caravans changed owners; in both cases, that is approximately the same number as last year.

Chairman Leo Diepemaat of the KCI said during the presentation of the figures: “We campers can go and stand wherever we want, we can and go to the place where we want to stay at any time.”
